3) What we collect

We may collect the following categories of data:

• Identity & contact: name, email, phone, postal address, job title, company (if provided).
  

• Account & usage: login ID, profile info, attendance, progress, assessments, grades, submissions, forum posts, support tickets, call/chat recordings.
  
• Device & technical: IP address, browser/device type, OS, timestamps, navigation logs, cookies, SDK/analytics IDs, pixels.
  
• Education & career: qualifications, work history/goals (if provided), resume/LinkedIn, interview outcomes (for placement assistance).
  
• Payments & billing: invoice details, transaction IDs, plan/EMI details, GSTIN.
  

We do not collect or store full card numbers, CVV, or netbanking credentials. Payments are processed by RBI-compliant gateways.

• Proctoring/ID verification (Program-specific): government ID image/number, facial image, webcam recordings, screen recordings — only if required for assessments. We’ll notify you and obtain any additional consents required.
  
• User-generated content: assignments, projects, quizzes/exams, peer reviews, forum posts.
  
• Marketing preferences: your opt-ins/opt-outs for email/SMS/WhatsApp/phone.
  

We do not intentionally collect sensitive data (e.g., health, biometrics) unless strictly necessary for identity verification or proctoring. In such cases, we will clearly inform you and obtain explicit consent.

• Directly from you: forms, enrolment, assessments, uploads, communications.

• From partners/service providers: payment gateways, proctoring vendors, communication tools, analytics, advertising partners, and Educational Partners/hiring partners.

We process personal data as necessary and proportionate to operate, secure, and improve the Platform and Programs, to comply with law, and for other purposes disclosed at collection or compatible with the original purpose. Examples include:

• Delivering Programs, assessments, certifications.
  
• Placement assistance (profile review, mock interviews, job alerts, sharing with hiring partners with your consent).
  
• Communicating service updates, schedules, invoices, support responses.
  
• Improving content, features, and security.
  
• Fraud prevention, misuse/cheating detection, and maintaining exam integrity.
  
• Billing, GST compliance, statutory record-keeping.

Operational messages: Even if you opt out of marketing, you may still receive essential service communications (e.g., enrolment, invoices, security alerts, policy updates).

Our Platform integrates with third-party vendors (payments, proctoring, analytics, video conferencing). Their privacy practices apply when you use those features. We are not responsible for third-party practices and disclaim liability for their acts/omissions.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share with:

• Service providers (cloud, LMS, proctoring, communication, analytics, payments, support).
  
• Educational & hiring partners, as needed for your Program or placement assistance, and only with your consent.

We update our list of providers/partners as required and disclose only what is necessary.

9) International transfers

Your data may be processed outside India by our service providers. Where required, we apply contractual and technical safeguards. By using the Platform, you understand your data may be processed in jurisdictions with different standards.

We may process your profile/resume and share with hiring partners with your consent. We provide placement assistance only and do not guarantee any job, salary, role, location, or outcome.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified (e.g., email/in-app), and we will update the Effective Date. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.

16) No contractual expansion

This Policy is for transparency. It does not create any additional contractual or statutory rights beyond those required by applicable law or our Terms of Use, nor does it impose obligations on Meritshot beyond those required by law.
